This project came about through an interior designer named Donald Shaw. Don was hired to recreate the environment of the entranceway of a large residential building in NYC.

Don contacted me with an exact concept and drawings of what he was looking for. I reviewed and critiqued his drawings after realizing the piece he had on paper would have very little sound. I gave him my insights on a design change that would allow the fountain to create a much better sound. Don agreed with my ideas and gave me the job! I worked diligently to make this piece it was the most technical fountain I had ever created because all the planes had to be exactly level for the water to fall on all 4 sides.

In the end it worked great. The sound was perfect for the environment, and Don was delighted with the way it worked out. If you’re ever in NYC on 34th St. keep your eye out for this fountain; it sits in the lobby window between 9th and 10th Ave.
